Home and church base
Free and Healed is a ministry based on the northern edge of Switzerland. We are associated with various churches across denominational boundaries.
We believe in the biblical imagery for the church as a Body and as a Bride.
A Bride means that Christ has fallen in love with his church and his love affair with the church began a long time before I was born. This humbles me whenever I discover some amazing new revelation, which seems at first to be the answer to everything that I perceive as wrong with any system or organisation that calls itself Christian. Wow – Jesus wants to marry her. Okay. Respect. He sees some beauty that I haven’t noticed yet. And think of it from the perspective of the Bridegroom. Would you invite someone to your wedding if you knew they would talk bad about your bride?
A Body means diversity and balance. Diversity because every part of the body is different with a unique function. Balance because our bodies are amazingly balanced with a right side and left side. The internal organs may be arranged asysmetrically but all the limbs, eyes and ears are balanced with right and left pairs.
If we take these pictures seriously then being part of a church should not be a question of where we feel comfortable, where we like the music or style or preacher or any other such question, but it should be a question of function. Where can I fulfil the function that God has made me to fulfil, and where can he achieve his purposes through the interaction with others in my local environment.
So where do we fit in to this body and bride?
The founders of Free and Healed, David & Isabelle Taylor are associated with and mentored by leaders from various ministries in Switzerland, Pakistan, Kenya, Zimbabwe and the USA. We use Skype to stay in touch and stay accountable and travel at least once a year to spend at least two weeks with our focus country leaders.
We are also officially associated with the youth of the Evangelische Landeskirche in the village where we live, where we are helping the young leaders to steward a powerful move of God. Isabelle is also involved with a local group of intercessors and worshippers.
We have spent a season in the Vineyard-Lakeside in Kreuzlingen where David served in music and preaching teams. And as a couple, we completed a one year leadership training ‘huddle’ with Roger Keller. Prior to that time we were involved in a prophetic-experimental house church network which developed some extreme tendencies which violated our foundational understanding of the Body of Christ. When we first married we were members of the FCGW: Free Christian Church Wetzikon which is a pentecostal church. This was our home church for 4+ years.
