We need a greater understanding of the anointing. It is a substance, it is conferred and transferrable, it flows, it heats, it heals, it empowers. In the Bible it is symbolized as oil. We cannot live on the oil of others. We need to buy our own oil. (Jesus in the Parable of the 10 wise and the ten foolish virgins). The oil can be perpertually regenerating as with the widow who served the Prophet Elijah. But it can run out or dry up as with King Saul who was anointed King but lost his kingship by trying to save his face. How many of us are praying for a move of God but want to continually save face and look respectable in the eyes of the world?
