Motives don’t justify incompetence, and having a title does not excuse us if we overstep boundaries. But doing away with titles or frameworks does not solve the problem either. There are vessels for relationships that are meaningful, and they help us to manage mutual expectations, but without humility and reciprocity, these vessels will sooner or later burst.
We are all in search of authentic relationships, the kind that will help us to become more Christlike and make our lives richer and more fulfilling. When God made Adam he realised after letting him tend the Garden for a while on his own, that it was not good for him to be alone and so he created Eve to be a helpmate for him.
